To be fair, any statement about consciousness is currently unfalsifiable. (Except maybe the Penrose-Hameroff model.) And likely to stay that way; I doubt it would be ethical to conduct experiments that could prove or disprove that "XYZ is the physical correlate of consciousness"

* after I've read a book or watched a movie or series
I don't usually pick books based on reviews, it's often because I like the author. But for games it helps to know if it's buggy, for clothing if it is true to size.

When reading reviews before buying something I will seek out positive and negative reviews because it's helpful to see what people say did or didn't work for them. Both aspects can be very helpful when making a decision.

Yeah I think the argument should focus on the platform itself, and the information it gathers on US citizens on behalf of an adversary, rather than the content the platform provides.
