If someone instead were to ask, "What does it mean for CB to be part of CPT now that IWC is involved," would that be acceptable to you?

Also, I anticipated that you would make this about me because exchanges like this tend to resort to whataboutism, but I'll play along.

I agree that starting the conversation in the way you would describe might be more productive, but I think a more productive way would be to ask a question.

I simply wanted to know how you think people who were genuinely concerned by the announcement should address the matter because you offered no clear alternative to how you think this discourse should be taking place.

By conversation, I mean the response to the announcement that the EWC is partnering with CPT, which, in turn, CB is a part of.

I agree that to infer that CB is accepting Saudi money based solely on this announcement is wrong and somewhat irresponsible, but my reply to your post was not rhetorical.

I'm sorry to hear that you find this sort of discourse exhausting, but how would you suggest people have this conversation instead? Or are you suggesting that because you believe CB has "earned the benefit of the doubt," this conversation shouldn't be happening at all?

Or am I suggesting a false dilemma or false correlation in associating the two? I'm genuinely curious about what people think and would love to have a more nuanced discussion without the conversation devolving into the whole "fgc vs esports" dichotomy that has become such a meme.

Given the FGC's seemingly relentless pursuit of scale and its subsequent involvement with private equity, I wonder what honest conversations people are willing to have when it comes to keeping these small businesses open.

Can the FGC stay this course AND keep offline locals going? If so, how?

Not sure how or where to start this conversation, but for years, the FGC has talked about "supporting locals," but what does that actually mean or look like?

I ask this not to be rhetorical but from a place of genuine curiousity as I see more venues like A-cho, Xanadu, and Brooklyn Games closing.

At the last Jazzy Finale, we went to great lengths to soft mod nearly every cab with USB decoders that would work with everyone's input devices.

Ultimately, only two attendees used their own controllers, but we did all that work anyway because we wanted to accommodate as many players as possible.

IIRC, btran did not DQ himself but ended up playing said player offstream. Again, this is my understanding of the situation based on what I saw on stream and what was reported to me by those who were at the event.

With that said, this issue is something that Jazzy continues to address.
