I appreciate the enthusiasm, but rest assured I got this.

Every few years the news is like "El nino?" and for some reason it feels to me like we've never stopped talking about it and it is always The Nino time, even though it is an intermittent phenomena.

What went wrong? Was it the achiote paste? It was weird to work with and none of my inbuilt cook instincts quite knew what to do with it.

I rarely stick to recipes, but on this I do not stray at all.

I don't think we will ever see comedy writing so dense and interconnected as Arrested Development was.

No other show has rewarded close scrutiny as it did for me. The metahumor on that show was unreal.

I think one of our biggest problems is that politeness is just saying uncontroversial shit and agreeing with each other. This is an outmoded means of communication and the evidence is everywhere.

This creates cultural blind spots you could park a gas giant in with room on all sides to get around.

And if Sinbad's comedy ever got anything even close to an edge on it, that would mean something.

And this doesn't even take messaging fatigue into account.

I think the "awareness" theory should have died out in the 90's.

Everybody wants to have an effect, but they are unwilling to venture anything, certainly nothing that carries risk. So you get a bunch of reactionaries and ineffectual scolds talking to hear themselves.

I dunno. His star wasn't exactly super glowing. I think he was lucky to be in the mainstream as long as he was. He was pretty corny.

I wonder just how much stupid in the world is not born from ignorance, but an informed decision not to know.

Used to be you needed to either be in or know someone in the service to know that is a ponderous, antiquated bulk dragged into the modern era by sheer cultural inertia.

Why do we have a separate term for planktivorous animals. The plankton themselves are animals and plants, right? Wouldn't they just be omnivores?

I am betting if they were pressed on the legitimacy and/or necessity of the "legit" ones they might hem and haw at that as well.

Always a great idea to aggregate a large international crowd with cameras from all over the world in a central place shortly after swatting a hornets nest of a government said to hold a controlling interest in global terrorism.

I could not think of a more obvious symbolic target.

It's a cheap way to make a game, but it often is either all the dev can manage and it's bad, or it's beneath the dev's ability and still being implemented. Because it's cheap. Still bad.
