It's fascinating seeing just how much my intro game design students are getting into the Fighting Fantasy books I've brought in. These are games/books that are significantly older than any of them, but they are still heavily invested in the experiences.

Just watched Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for the 1st time and, I don't know if it's because I'm struggling with depression atm, but I don't understand why people had an issue with it.

I really liked it - definitely a Hell of a lot more than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

So anyway, I created an updated version of that XdanielArt chart that contains all the Adobe alternatives since there are a lot more now than there were back when that list was originally made, and Adobe has continued to get shittier and shittier.

I realise I haven't been posting much anywhere the last little while.

Between escaping from a legitimately dangerous living situation, working/overworking to try to afford getting away and medical expenses, and watching the US descend into fascism, I really haven't had much I was comfortable saying

It definitely feels like the PS1's 'edgy' version of the Legend of Zelda. It has undeniable rough edges but is still very much worthwhile.

It's also interesting how many audiovisual assets Silicon Knights... ummm... let's be nice and say 'borrowed' for this game from their port work on The Horde

This is one of the first games Amy Hennig worked on when she started out with Crystal Dynamics. The overall story is ... 'convoluted', but a lot of the minute-to-minute writing is fantastic.

I have always been a particular fan of the Heart of Darkness lore in the inventory menu.

Still looking for more applications.

I'm noticing a lot of enthusiasm for environmental art (which is good) but not many examples (which is not good).

Will start interviews early April.

I am more than done with people thinking it's okay to use ret*ard/ret*rded. It is a bigoted slur, it is not okay, and the people using are in no place to judge the developmental ability of others.

If you can't think of a better way to criticize something, maybe shut the Hell up
