I will never understand the need to shame your clients or patients. These are people coming to you for your help and service, paying you for your time and talents... So making them feel like garbage for not having done things sooner accomplishes what??

Trauma survivors are busy just surviving growing up. We didn't have the bandwidth, guidance, or modeling to learn how to create meaning & enjoy life-- both of which involve skillsets most humans aren't born with.

Recovery is learning on our own what we should have been taught.

So many things make sense now! Everything from my childhood that I was told to stop doing or was wrong. I just wouldn't speak and nobody thought anything about it because at least I wasn't being annoying.
