I have been keeping up with my pushups! Haven't been posting because things have been busy, but I'll do an update with totals tomorrow.

Something I hear a lot from judges and players is "I was *this close* to issuing a slow play warning" or "I was just about to call them out for taking too long". I think having that thought (within reason) should be the point you intervene or speak up, not after that thought lingers for a while.

Slow play enforcement in general also needs to be better (in Elestrals, Yugioh, every game). I think judges and players alike still feel like the bad guy when they tell someone to make decisions faster and the culture around that needs to change.

Having been responsible for the current time rules in Elestrals, it's mostly true that there's no such thing as good time rules. I do think there needs to be *some* element of player agency after time is called in changing the outcome that's better than comparing LP.

I totally get the challenge for Yugioh of long turns making extra definied overtime really weird. I'd think something like:

- 45 min rounds
- Time is called, finish current turn and next turn
- Hard cap of 15 minutes
- Overall stricter enforcement of slow play to make it work

Doing a double loss for matches that go to time is good policy, but immediately ending a match with no additional player agency after the moment time gets called is unbelievably cringe. Seems miserable for players and for viewers.
