That's a beautiful moment there! Great to see Montana pics -- my mom grew up in the Madison Valley (back in the Depression days -- later the family moved to western Montana)... My great-uncles there were mostly ranchers, saloon owners, quite some times....

I looked up the photographic studio, Larrick's, on newspapers. com. The only notices for it date from 1904-1905 (so my estimate on the photo date was probably late). The gallery operated in Pineville, Missouri, which tracks with what I know of his home base then: Pineville Democrat, 16 Dec., 1904.

*Google image search identified the car in the picture as a 1971 or 1972 Plymouth Satellite (not 1980s). That seems about right.
