Thanks for the info. I guess it’s good to have high standards. Maybe he’s found a way to renew the copyrights without releasing anything, otherwise it seems like a missed opportunity - there truly are some (to my ears) classics that have slipped away.

Another follow-up comment. The Beach Boys are set to have a box released covering the 15 Big Ones/Love You/Adult Child years. These were not their most commercially accepted albums, but we’re going to get them with some TLC applied. It can’t be about money, can it?

Just as a quick follow-up: all(?) of Robin Gibb’s recordings done during the brief breakup were released. Barry and Maurice solo and the unreleased Kick in the Head shouldn’t remain disappeared. It’s good!

Does anyone know why The Bee Gees catalog hasn’t gotten the copyright release treatment? Beach Boys’ previously unreleased material was a revelation once it got cleaned up and released properly. There are dozens of Bee Gees songs I’m aware of that need to be heard. I’m sure lots that I’m unaware!

Phenomenal debut. We had no idea at the time what a killer King Crimson would be a mere 5 years later or that 2 members would have far more success in other bands. Epitaph stills astonishes, Cat Food just around the corner!

When I moved to Brooklyn those were my stations too. For a short while WPIX was amazing too but one morning I woke up and they were playing Jimmy Buffett instead of Wire. That marked the end of an era.

One of my favorite Beatles LPs. I’m Looking Through You was my go to song when it came out (bought it for $2.99 at a grocery store and still have it) but over time In My Life has become THE song… I think maybe their best song ever. How they could do this in their early 20s is astonishing.

My dad was a local radio dj and he brought home duplicate 45s the station received. I couldn’t stop listening to the My Generation single when it came out and became a fan for life. The Kids Are Alright is a template for power pop, The Good’s Gone another fave.
