Would anyone be interested in an art trade?
I could also make a custom print if it’s mutually agreeable :3

Happy international no diet day!

Today I am including GLP-1’s (for solely weight loss, not diabetes or other indicated illnesses) in my no diet day.

Fuck diet culture, including drugs!

Movements for marginalized bodies are not here just so non-marginalized groups can steal it, pollute and water down the message, and then turn around and blame us for being discriminated against while stealing/destroying our movements.

Not to be controversial but no, body positivity is not for everyone.

It is a social movement for marginalized bodies (fat, disabled, queer, etc.) to lift up those who society puts down.

Not for you as a thin/white/abled/cishet to feel better about how you look.

A hungry population is a compliant one.

A divided population is a distracted one.

An untrusting population is an exploitable one.

The rising trend of:

- thin worship
- beige/colorless color palettes
- trad wives
- homeschooling
- respectability politics
- banned books
- holistic science/medicine (ex. raw milk, seed oils)

are all related to the rise of conservatism and white supremecy.

Things to say if people comment on your weight at family gatherings:

“What a peculiar thing to say out loud.”

“We’re doing feedback? My turn.”

“You better die after me, otherwise you wasted your time.”

“You caught me!”

A classic - “Fuck off.”

Hot take: A lot of people are scared to associate with the word butch bc of their fatphobia. They think the word “masc” separates them from these stereotypes of butches, when they would identify this way if they didn’t care so much about being in proximity to thinness.

If your fat activism doesn’t include those who chose to be fat then you have work to do. Choosing to be fat does not shield one from societal fatphobia. True commitment to fat liberation requires acknowledging that for many people, a fat life can be a source of happiness and fulfillment.

The animosity towards accommodating furniture for fat people is an example of when bigotry ends up worsening the lives of those pushing the rhetoric as well. Why would you not want bigger seats on airlines? More supportive furniture? More personal space?

Fat liberation/bopo is not a fashion accessory for you to put on when you feel bad about yourself then take off when you get the chance to put others down or take ozempic or “finally lose weight”. To be truly body positive you cannot moralize/“flex” your weight fluctuations.

Fat activism and lesbianism have such a wonderfully intertwined history, it’s such a shame when pieces of media (especially in the 90s-2000s) like The L Word erase fat lesbians for the sake of beauty standards. Beauty standards are a form of patriarchy, why are we bringing them into lesbian spaces?

internalized fatphobia isn’t just “i hate fat people” or “i don’t want fat friends” or even “i have fat friends to feel better about myself” it’s also:

assuming you would be happier, more attractive, and healthier if you were skinny. even if your methods to get skinny are unhealthy.

"Ob*sity-related" diseases are diseases people of all sizes get, that get called "ob*sity-related" when higher-weight people have them. They are also weight-cycling and weight-stigma related, so this may be blaming fat bodies for the negative impacts of the stigma & weight cycling they experience.

Please don’t let the loss of support of some previously fat positive creators, due to GLP-1’s, convince you to change yourself.

GLP-1’s as a “weight loss tool” has hurt fat people more than it will ever help us.

Trans day of remembrance. Don't just focus on those trans people who have been murdered by strangers in public. Also remember the trans people who were denied healthcare, allowed to die in prison, encouraged to kill themselves by their loved ones, buried under the wrong name by their families.

You can't suggest that the existence of, or increase in the number of, fat people is a negative thing and be considered anti-weight stigma. They are mutually exclusive. The idea that an increase in the number of fat people is a bad thing IS weight stigma.

Aubrey Gordon is such an amazing author. Reading "’You Just Need to Lose Weight’: And 19 Other Myths About Fat People” by her and aside from having amazing content and education, it’s just so well-written. I would highly recommend all of her writings. @yrfatfriend.bsky.social
