The entire Lichess team is deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely passing of GM Daniel Naroditsky. Danya had a deep passion for chess and a rare gift for inspiring that love of the game in others. Through his commentary, playing, and tireless efforts across all domains of chess, Danya won the hearts and minds of the community. We have truly lost one of our brightest advocates for the game, taken well before his time at just 29. Our team's thoughts are with his family, friends and his many fans at this time.

I'm comparatively new to chess, compared to most who are familiar with GMs. I just assumed I would be learning from Daniel Naroditsky for the rest of my life, you know?

Agreed. I have no entausiasm at the moment. Discussing the game with my dad the topic of the next game came up. Neither of us had a clue who it was against. Still haven't been bothered to check.

Finished 2nd of 14 players (my r2 Shanks opponent won). Games 1 and 2 were on stream so I will check the VODs to see if I misplayed, but I think (hope) it was pretty tight #OPTCG
