I was at this incredible show as was director Jim Jarmusch, who filmed the whole thing. Then we all hustled up to Cleveland, where Waits played a second show that started at 1 a.m. and had an entirely different set list. One of America's greatest living songwriters, who rarely plays shows.

The climate report was assembled by Energy Secretary Chris Wright and reflects years of his own misleading climate change statements. He touted it when the Trump administration proposed the endangerment rollback, but was notably absent from the White House event where his report was unmentioned.

β€œThey would have been obliterated in court,” @andrewdessler.com told me. "This is the gold standard of climate skepticism and if this is the best they can do, then they’ve proven how robust climate science actually is."

Trump sidelines climate contrarians in science rollback The president has mocked global warming as a β€œhoax,” but his administration avoided testing that claim in court as it targeted the endangerment finding.

Climate denialists claimed victory when the Trump administration published an unprecedented report reliant on decades of debunked claims. The administration just proved it has no confidence their work could withstand scrutiny in a legal fight over climate regulations www.politico.com/news/2026/02...

EPA repeals endangerment finding The move discards a scientific determination that empowered the government to limit climate pollution.

Trump claims people are "dying" because of the endangerment finding and the way it restricted air conditioning and fossil fuels. Which, of course, is not reality.

Here’s what could happen when the endangerment finding dies States, courts and Congress could be forced to fill the climate policy vacuum.

I'm told that the endangerment finding repeal package lands next week. I look at what that could mean for other climate rules, state action, and the future of U.S. climate policy.

And on Signal at jchemnick.01, for any tips on when, where, etc.!

Months ago, during the first government shutdown, a source suggested I take a look at how small federal contractors were being affected. I started making calls and quickly realized that this story went beyond the shutdown β€” some of these folks had been losing money all year. 1/

Florida DOGE embraces Trump’s disputed climate report The DeSantis administration, seeking to curtail local spending, cited a Department of Energy report to question the "so-called climate crisis."

Florida's DOGE team is now using the misleading DOE climate report to attack government spending on infrastructure, EVs, mass transit and more in one of the most climate-vulnerable states. www.eenews.net/articles/flo.... From me and @adamaton.bsky.social

Report author Steve Koonin wrote in the WSJ that the "peer-reviewed report is entirely our work, free from political influence β€” a departure from previous assessments.” But in reality, DOE and EPA political appointees shaped the report, and even sent Clean Air Act provisions to focus their work.

"We were kept in the dark about how our report would be used," one of the report authors told me. The emails show that it false. In an email, he told his colleagues that "All I can hope is that what we write will provide sufficient β€˜reasonable scientific doubt’" to attack the endangerment finding.

Internal emails show Department of Energy's debunked climate science report was reviewed by scientists internally, who found it "biased," "misleading," and "hypocritical." Contrarian authors tailored their work to ensure it focused on weakening climate regulations. www.eenews.net/articles/doe...

Trump opposes wind energy. That could be a tough sell in Iowa. The president takes his affordability message Tuesday to the state where turbine farms have helped keep electricity prices low.

Trump is speaking in Iowa now, starting with a claim that cold weather means global warming is not real. @adamaton.bsky.social and I wrote about how Iowa, which receives 2/3 of its power from wind and has low utility bills, is a powerful argument for clean energy. www.eenews.net/articles/tru...

Burgum celebrated wind power. Then Trump tapped him to kill it. As governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum bragged about his state’s wind energy. He shed those views when he became Interior secretary.

When he was North Dakota's governor, Burgum frequently bragged about the state's wind industry and helped it grow so large that it wind now accounts for a third of the state's power. www.eenews.net/articles/bur...

Trump just said if he does not "take over" Greenland, Russia and China will do so. He said "we will doing something with Greenland either the nice way or the hard way." He said US must "own" Greenland because otherwise it's like a rental or lease.

The IPCC said humans cause climate change. Is that why Trump quit it? Withdrawing from the world’s premier climate science organization supports the president’s views about global warming.

Trump has long claimed US can take other countries’ oil The president’s posture toward Venezuela isn’t new. He previously has said the U.S. should seize oil from Iraq and Syria.

Trump has long claimed he wants to seize oil from other countries as a result of US military intervention, stating at one point that "to the victor belong the spoils." That would be a war crime, but Venezuela may be Trump's first chance to test the world on the issue. www.eenews.net/articles/tru...

The White House will not clarify or explain what Trump meant by this bizarre claim, which is entirely made up. The president was delivering a pre-written speech that included an entirely fictitious statement that has no bearing in reality. Why so specific, where did the number 1,600 come from?

18.12.2025 20:39 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Trump just said this: "Within the next 12 months, we will have opened 1600 new electrical generating plants, a record. And it's a record that won't be beaten by practically, I would say, by anybody, or certainly not." That's not even on the same planet as reality.
