It is impressive that Trump has somehow managed to simultaneously combine the worst traits of Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler

I can't really look at the sum total of this administration's policy and do anything but conclude that it's less about causing misery and more that they have honestly internalized Malthus or something and have decided that the death of the infirm and the poor is a societal good.

The arguments for this are very soft and have to do with maintaining "work culture" or some shit like that. The real reason for most organizations is to justify the maintenance of expensive office space.
