We @amnesty.org recorded over 1500 executions across 15 countries in 2024, the highest figure recorded by Amnesty International since 2015. Yet our latest report finds that the use of the death penalty has been decreasing globally π

In 2024, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia accounted for 91% of all recorded executions, and were among the five countries with the highest number of executions.
