Also wonder about the blind spots of that data. How many people’s lives would be saved by a transplant, but don’t ever get on the registry? How many could have their quality of life improved by one?

Unfortunately the HRSA data for transplant list removal reason seems to only be available center by center. Might have some manual tabulation to do

Sounds like ICE employed El Salador’s strategy for rounding up people to send there: arrest anyone who looks like they might be in a gang (anyone who has tattoos) and lock ‘em all up. No questions. No trials. No recourse.

What’s up with how weird ICE agents are acting? Like this case they say he’s fine and he gets deported anyway. Seem… off in many other stories

In the stories I’ve seen of people being unreasonably detained by ICE, the officers’ behavior is just so… strange.

They seem to know what’s going to happen. They won’t say what. They won’t say why.

When asked, they claim ignorance.

Secret police. Disappearances. Punishing speech. This sounds eerily familiar…

It’s shocking to me how little we seem to care about Congress. I just looked through the entire staff directory at VT and, as best I can tell, nobody here studies what happens after members are elected.

I’m no expert, I’m sure there‘s a lot more that needs to be done, but this is a start. I plead with every Senator and every Representative: PLEASE do your job

With the firing of the inspectors general, there isn’t really anyone providing federal oversight.

Congress needs to fill its role here.

Members need more staff staff. Committees need more staff. Groups like CBO and CRS need more staff.

Congress needs to give itself enough funding to do its job. I imagine each any every member knows how short staffed they are. There simply aren’t enough people to get the work done.
