Understand your point. But…the intent of this article is not to invite constructive challenges in important policy debates, but to undermine the progressive ambitions of the government and portray it in the worst possible light. To what ends? It’s almost like they’re working for Reform.

Applications open for 30 hours funded childcare expansion New data finds half a million children already benefitting from 15 hours extended childcare offer as applications open for tens of thousands more from today.

The Labour government is today opening applications for 30 hours of funded childcare from September.

It will apply to all children over 9 months old and will see the current 15 hours increased to 30 hours a week, saving parents £7500 per child.

Almost 500k already took up the 15 hours last year.

It also features nepotism in our area. Many borough councillors are related to each other, with their businesses benefitting from council contracts. It’s almost feudal.

There is also a major age discrimination issue developing out there, as many elderly and vulnerable people are unable or incapable of using smartphones/laptops to access customer services. Government needs to act. Urgently.
