The fact that Vote Leave were fined £61,000 (max the Electoral Commission could impose) is confirmation of fraud, either deliberately or unintentionally. It also confirms that referendums are considered separately under UK law when it comes to overspending. No party is considering a review.

Oddly and sadly, the law around election fraud is far more strict than that for referendums. Vote Leave exceeded its spending limit by £449,079 and committed other offences, including delivering an inaccurate spending return and failing to provide documents. Fined just £61.000!

The fact the police are investigating Reform over alleged election overspend is potentially far more serious than you might imagine. If found guilty it could actually lead to a VOID election. Farage could lose his seat and be barred from office for 3 years and a by election could be called! 🤞

Someone claiming JSA whilst working isn’t in the same category as Michele Mone. The cost of taking someone to an overstretched court could take years to be heard and the fine would probably be a few pounds every week. It’s more likely a caution would be issued. You probably do know someone who is claiming “Job Seekers” benefits but who is either working and not declaring it or has no intention of seeking or getting a job. Not to be confused with genuine claimants. It’s reckoned, we, that’s you and me fork out £9.5B in overpaid benefits every year!

Yes. Even if they get an interview, the real cheats make sure they fail the interview so they can continue to claim job seekers allowance. The mistake this govt and the last seem to be making is to tar everyone with the same brush.

One “wheelchair user” in our group of 38 did have a fold up stick but she only “needed” it when we were queuing for toilets etc and all of us then allowed her to move to the front. At all other times she was as mobile as everyone else.

Honestly, I think I might have been on that trip. When we got off the plane, not one but 3 wheelchairs waiting for the very people in the group whom I had been walking the hills with. They all got transferred to electric vehicles and taken to the front of the queue at arrivals.
