Crazy how inventing a straw man argument for an app being Chinese spyware weapon of mass indoctrination works out. they first bungle its ban and then immediately lose all possibility of controlling said weapon and then hand it over to the “bad cop” who laughs and points it at their temple.

Just deleted TikTok. It just doesn’t feel safe anymore. Should I go back in and delete my profile -or- just let it dry on the vine?

I am migrating off of TikTok and meta - you’ll see me more here and on UpScrolled same username everywhere. Legacy social media is no longer safe for dissenting voices.

I’ve been on little red book for about three days. I have multiple people offering to show me around if I visit. Not a single angry comment ment to shut me down. Utter politeness and some frank deep and interesting conversation in the private messages.

There are privacy concerns with my fridge too.

The good of a people’s direct diplomacy between two nations that have been escalating tensions for a decade outstrips the risks by a mile.

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

My issue with twitter (and I assume this app) is the time it takes to compose a text when I think in pictures and express myself in gesticulations…

Didn’t the French start spraying literal shit cannons at the offices of the government and effectively shut the entire country down over something like this a year or two ago? Let’s grow some #baguettes people…
