Slow Horses on Apple is amazing - and we also loved Severance on there.

This is the art Kirby drew to be included for a NASA probe, his reasoning is scary and brilliant and in the alt text.

Cleveland Museum photo showing an ancient Egyptian paint box carved from boxwood with five oval wells containing original paint pigments. From top to bottom the preserved cake pigments are red (red ochre), blue (Egyptian blue), green (a mixture of Egyptian blue, yellow ochre, and orpiment) and two of black (carbon black, from charcoal). Dimensions 2.2 cm x 21 cm x 3.6 cm.

On the front of the box there’s an inscription inlaid in Egyptian blue with the name Amenemope who was Vizier during the reign of Amenhotep II, Dynasty 18. It translates as β€˜The overseer of the city and vizier Amenemope. Master of secrets of the west bank [of Thebes]’. A red inscription on the back reads β€˜Amen-Ra, Lord of the Thrones of the Two Lands’. Dated c. 1427-1401 BC.

Wow, this 3,400 year-old ancient Egyptian paint box still contains original pigments!

Looks similar to a modern-day set!

An inscription tells us it belonged to Amenemope, Vizier during the reign of Amenhotep II.

This, from Lee, is one of the best pieces of advice I have ever gotten; and it applies across creative work, not just to writing.

i love little free libraries and i have a special place in my heart for the ones that have nothing to do with books. this might be my favorite of all of those.

But for non-small creators, for corporates, they don’t play this silly game, it’s the other way round. Which is why garbage news is free, and good journalism is paywalled etc.

The rule - as explained to me re Substack and so on - is that your best stuff has to be publicly available for free. Your second best stuff is available for people who pay.

That seems nuts. But it’s how the public now expect stuff.

Though this is not how money and art has ever worked before.

NYC’s famous Subway Baby is turning 25 β€” and thriving This summer marks 25 years since New Yorker Danny Stewart found a baby in a subway station and went on to adopt the infant with his partner, Peter Mercurio.

Need some good news? The NYC subway baby--abandoned in a subway station as a newborn and adopted by the gay couple who found him there--is now a healthy 25 year old computer science nerd.

I’m a little scared to do this but…after 5+years, i think i’m going to relaunch my commission list today. I have not taken commissions in over 5 years because that’s how serious comic book monthly deadlines are. So yeah, I could use some retweets when i do this thanks

Its worth noting that in Britain, Mamdani would have thrown out of the Labour Party by a small room full LinkIn weirdos and then replaced by a former private healthcare lobbyist who would go on to lose by 5,000 votes to a Reform candidate who was a convinced sex offender.

Funerals should just be car boot sales of all your stuff with a jacket potato and real ale stall, and everyone can wander round your stuff reminiscing about how weird you were, and wondering why you’ve so many sea-salt dispensers. The family can keep the money or donate it to charity.

Stop forcing AI into fucking everything. Noboday asked for it. Everyone hates it.

Again for those at the back.

There are lots of people (including me) that are finding it very hard to get work. This is in part to the places that used to pay artists now wanking off to AI.

It aint cool or funny.
It's damaging to the planet & to the welfare of real people.
