Oh, Texas, my home ‘country.’ When did we go from “we might secede at any moment” to “we need the feds to help us have a functional government?” How about we try putting TEXANS before any single person or party and see what happens, hmm?

I so enjoyed presenting at the Denver Rural Summit in Pueblo, CO last week! Sharing resources with others and learning more about the unique opportunities and needs of rural and tribal communities is such a pleasure, as is making new friends in the work. Thank you to DU Morgridge College of Ed!

I have to brag for a sec. My oldest made this super cool outfit for my youngest (pictured) to wear to her going away to med school party. What creativity! My girls are the best ever.

Lyme & other tick-borne diseases are a real, present, & growing threat—innovative research to combat this scourge is in peril as the Trump Administration holds federal funding hostage. HHS Secretary RFK Jr. must release that funding so we can stop tick-borne diseases & save lives

Medical doctors, PAs, and nurses: start keeping a tally of how often you (or your Dr) says, “maybe it’s anxiety” to male patients vs female patients. I have a hypothesis, but I’d like to see what you find.

Early-career-efficiency mode: you found the perfect cup to transfer coffee into your too-large mug for cup #3 out of 5 and you spend the 2 min of drip time deciding whether it is more efficient to use a spoon over the cup when pouring to prevent drips, or clean up the drips to avoid washing 2 items.

There is so much going on I can hardly keep up! I’ve had two great publications with amazing co-authors come out this month, and I’m about to head to Texas to present at Baylor and then at TAGT Leadership conference with some incredible partners! Whatever else is going on, I am blessed!

Just had an interesting discussion with my little (24yrs) about disruption, bullies, and how to resist effectively. Thankful that she ended with “I feel better. Thanks mom, you’re my person to talk things through with.” Whatever I have done right here, I am eternally grateful for it.

Went to help my daughter put up her tree. This is how she packed it away last year. Should I be concerned or pleased with her ingenuity?

Question: do you give feedback after presentations? I always look for it so I can improve. I’ve decided to add an incentive to my feedback requests. Those who complete it get access to an OSF folder with lessons I’ve created they can use and adapt at no cost. Would that be useful to you?
