Agreed. But I think there’s a reason that White people go so hard against shame. Inoculating yourself against shame makes it a lot easier to be openly White supremacist.

This is why we need to stop bashing shame, because some folks suffer from an absolute lack of it.

The thing that confused me for awhile was that the loudest people banging on about this had done it - they went to Ivy+ schools. But so did Obama and that's the rub. If Black people can access those spaces and benefit from it it loses its specialness

I did not care for the portrayal of his earth parents in this one. The combination of the southern accents (um...Smallville is in Kansas?) and haplessness was annoying.

I saw the Superman movie tonight. My expectations for DC movies are fairly low, but this one was good. Now, it's not going to surpass my love for the Christopher Reeve Superman (I'm one of the weirdos who even loved Superman III), but it'll do.

If you’re the kind of person who easily forgets what you’ve accomplished, you need a practice for reminding yourself. Count the years, the finished projects, the progress, the praise, count it all up and use it as evidence against the ever present criticism in your head that you’re not doing enough.
