There's something to be said for letting your backyard grow wild in the summer heat. I'm cutting my yard for the first time in a month and for all my years, I'm looking at a lunar moth in the wild for the 1st time ever. I take a pic but this phone camera couldn't pick it out camouflaged in the bush

I think @spyvinyl.bsky.social, @edcooknj.bsky.social and @sittinglynx.bsky.social might get a kick out of this hot-pink looker I picked up from @ksfphd.bsky.social last week.

I didn't get mad that my supervisor didn't know it was offensive to begin with. I got mad that he repeated it after I explained why it was offensive. Then my postmaster said he still didn't understand in the 2nd & 3rd meeting, & yes I explained the "why" again & again. Just plain ignorant.

Here's a kick in the head, I had to have 3 separate meetings with my supervisor, postmaster, & (in the last) the union local vice president that the term "honest injun" is offensive & shouldn't be used in the workplace. I explained it 3 times & they still said they didn't understand.

I don't think homage covers were a thing back then. If anything, I'd say artists might have looked at past issues for ideas & tried to find a way to make it different enough for people not to notice & then move on to the next. Just my guess though.

What's more jarring is when said man raises the curtain to start the show. That's when porky the pig turns into Pepe Le Pew
