Not necessarily. Often those functions are there for convenience not efficiency. Also, any curved line drawing uses that same underlying function, even drawing a basic circle, so there is no speed advantage to using the built-ins.

Drawing a parabola with Pygame I want to draw a parabola in pygame. I have made a pixelarray object and loop through it to determine if a pixel is on the parabola or not. I seem to get an image that has gaps between the points. ...

I'm lucky enough to have a partner in my Game Dev, but if I were solo I believe I would have the same issue as this person. I'm not the best at social interaction, so I would have difficulty reaching out on social media, and would feel super isolated to the point where I would abandon the project.

I do think you might be underestimating the effects of loneliness. Not that AI is the solution, but as someone who suffers from chronic loneliness, it is extremely hard to find people who will interact with me outside of me bothering them to the point I'm a nuisance.

I imagine if more AAA games were developed by small teams (and weren't produced by evil mega corporations) we'd see more competitive pricing in that realm so that it can reach more people.

I don't think it's as much a case of people thinking "this is worth more because it cost a lot," but instead more of a resignation to the fact that large games require large teams and therefore cost more to produce. I don't think anyone sees a $60 price tag and assumes it's a good game from that.
