In my experience it works perfectly for generating small code snippets (15-20ish lines of code) but starts struggling for long codes

My personal highlight of #ICRA2025 was my own presentation. I know its kinda shameless self promotion but this was my first experience and will be a lifetime memory!

I am looking for options to deploy VLMs/VLAs on edge devices. Came across this guy who deployed LLaVA on Pi. Are there better options? Especially for Xavier AGX / Orin kind of edge devices.

I am unsure about “no value” part, but as generating more and more papers is getting easier (at least in quantity), I would believe a proportionally diminishing value they bring (a purely economical analogy)

A few week backs I thought people's attention is diluted jumping in and out of several socials and thought soon enough that will settle down -- but maybe that's gonna persist a while.

All AI tools, vehicles is an example. Coding/ Writing assistants, all types of AI assistants, etc.

Fair, economic projection models have always been questionable I guess.

AI tools for every human task would exist not because they are good or bad, but because people need an alternative to the effort of doing the task.

AI tools for every human task would not matter, because people who enjoy doing the task for the sake of it would keep on doing it regardless. :)

What Happened to the Delivery Robots? Analyzing a trend in robotics that seems to have peaked a few years ago - and hopefully is on its way back

I was wondering a while ago what happened to all the little delivery robot companies so I looked into it. I think it's so interesting that these things were everywhere in ~2018-2020, but then vanished!

Yup! I turn it off because I really like writing (being poor to afford the full version is beyond the point 🥲) — but I see a future where all papers are nothing but templates filled with AI generated words

I agree, I am unsure about the scaling of the commercial aspects, at least in the passenger vehicle space, freights being a diff story.

I was more pressing on the viability of the AV tech. I do think tech is mature, but regulatory commissioning (rightfully) can put off OEMs.

More than the question on viability of the AV tech, this potentially is more about GM focusing on short term gains, which arguably are with ADAS.

I believe its to encourage industry contribution— there focus is more on codes/libraries/containers and much less on math and analytics. Probably, thats my guess…

I have used the Xavier occasionally for segmentation/ control. Its decent -- but have experience that the power consumption is a bit too much.

Although in prototypical projects algorithmic optimization for power consumption is rarely the focus.
