A shop on Old Kent Road has been closed for 3 months after repeated illegal sales of tobacco and vapes, including sales to children.
117,000 cigarettes and 525 illegal vapes were seized. This is Southwark’s first closure order for these offences.

Heavy rain overnight washed away grit across London, leading to black ice in many places.
Our contractors have responded to ice and snow on footways by hand spreading salt in affected areas.
When temperatures fall below freezing we lay grit on roads and pavements, and will be gritting today.
As the temperature is forecast to remain low our gritting lorries will be out and about this afternoon and evening across a number of routes around Southwark to prevent ice forming and keep traffic moving.
