i think also tbf a lot of people in the clutch find liberal democracy very comforting for very understandable reasons, because the alternative is we give about 15% of america exactly what it's been asking for and 100% of america suffers for it.

I don't think revolution is unattainable, and that the energy of not just protest but active fighting back was high in 2017 through 2020.

We just have a tendency to complacency and breaking solidarity, to infighting and despair

there are people slowly radicalizing right and adopting fascist vernacular in ways I saw coming for years. Doesn't make me special, just have been paying basic attention and am familiar with these patterns

these people either already had these inclinations and are picking up signals it's more accepted, or have embraced nihilism and cowardice, and are operating on the classic Nazi mechanism of assigning all their problems to an insidious outside force instead of confronting white supremacy
