Journalists flock to Bluesky as X becomes increasingly 'toxic' Journalists are finding more readers and less hate on Bluesky than on the platform they used to know as Twitter.

NBC: Mississippi Free Press "Bluesky is getting 20 times the engagement or more than Twitter,” Pittman said. β€œSeeing a social media platform that doesn’t throttle links really makes it clear how badly we were being limited.”

I'm even thinking about this as a college educator since this, too, is a government job. And we know how scared some folks are about producing college-educated, critical thinkers. I've found many excellent certificate programs at minimal costs at local community colleges (TCC and Dallas College).

The usual suspects are out there yelling "There are 23 million government workers! Fire most of them!" No awareness that most work for local governments, and most of *them* are schoolteachers. Federal employment hasn't grown since the 1950s

Good list. The skill most young writers seem to struggle with most is listening, which makes No. 2 and 3 a whole lot harder.

If you want to pursue a career in sports media, you need to immerse yourself in sports media. That means reading, watching and listening to content on The Athletic, which should be near the top of any To Do list. For 25 cents a week, this is a steal. #sportsmedia #sportswriting #journalism
