Hard agree. Mailing lists are the last bulwark of creators trying to reach their audience.
Some billionaire fascist buys the platform your audience is on? Write an email. Or you get banned because the platform you used replaced their staff with an AI tool? Email.
Yeah, I think so much of our advertising is limited to social media - that if someone just isn't very online, they can miss whole things like that. Or, you know, they have like a big life event and miss your announcements for a while.

I can use this old technique to give a 3D effect in my animations
Animation practice: this 'tunnel' is made from one image only slightly wider than the screen. A combination of skewing and translating the image right to left, then duplicating and repositioning it - makes the 3D tunnel effect.
