Sorry I am not new to being a faculty mentor I am a mentor to new faculty. I do t mentor in my own department but outside my department because of the burn it all down stuff

What did I miss?

I am a new faculty mentor. After saying I post menopausal in a male dominated discipline and want to burn it all down, my advice was 1. say no often and ways 2. Have a tenure and promotion folder that documents everything (even failures) 3. Get to know your faculty association 4. AMA anytime

And since it’s pre existing, what private insurance company would cover me now without an affordable health act equivalent in Alberta which I am not hearing anything about

Does my extended health insurance cover this? No. I have $800 health care spending account that I always use every year for other required medical expenses and that METC only gets me 14% non refundable tax credit

Tossing and turning last night on the Premiers plan for this private health care system for so called elective surgeries. Mine, if I were to opt into a private surgery, would run me $60-$90k, the final amount I wouldn’t know until after the surgery due to complications
