At work this week (in a hospital) someone I hadn’t met before saw me while dropping equipment off and he immediately took 10 steps back and covered his mouth with his hands 😞 and I think it all goes to show that people don’t actually like being sick.

What on earth is this clownish, sheepish nonsense of a statement?

Do not forget the people of Lebanon either, who have been suffering the "preemptive" bombardment of Israel for well over a year and a half and are suffering it intensified tenfold today

The reason it's so important to explain that Covid vaccines can both reduce transmission & infection AND that this protection wanes over a few months is that if folks get long Covid despite knowing this, they may blame the vaccine

When a healthcare system provides risk intervention signage at admitting that absolutely none of the admitting staff follows, it: (a) makes clear that the system's goal is to reduce their liability, not patient health risks; & (b) sends a message to patients that it's fine (& in fact, sensible)

So many of us who got sick in 2020 experienced Ondine’s curse. Automatic breathing stops & your brain ends up in combat with itself—the conscious part fights to manually override the unconscious part which is supposed to be breathing but isn’t. You have to fight over & over again for every breath.

I totally agree. Like spend the energy calling out people blocking N95s, clean air, vaccines, and treatments - not people encouraging others to mask.
