Purely theoretical: if you felt the US were a failed experiment - that it's beyond repair - would you:
1.) keep it to yourself, period;
2.) speak of it only to a trusted private few;
3.) speak freely and publicly of it?

In 1974, my then-wife and I drove the length of it from the Great Smokies to Shenandoah NP in late September. We practically had it to ourselves. A great trip.
