The voter suppression going on in Texas yesterday was BLATANT blatant. Them folks wasn't even trying to hide it. Changing polling stations, harassing folks for different ID like passports, telling folks polling stations were Republican only... Jesus.

You can buy literally any other EV. Rivian is right there. Lucid. BYD. So many choices.

Mamdani picked up the Black voters and kept his coalition by:
* Getting name recognition among Black voters.
* Getting young Black voters to the polls.

He didn't change his message up. He didn't need to. 67% of young Black voters like Democratic socialism. They just don't like Bernie Bro racism.

Of course, there is a significant downside to this type of coalition since it misses THE key constituency within the Democratic Party: Black voters, who are the most consistent Democratic voters. Mamdani had to work hard to build relationships with Black voters (and he's still dealing with it).

It'll be less surprising later this year when he loses because the TX Dems failed to reach out to the most important base (Black voters).

How I be looking when Black people talk about wanting to move to Texas

Right? How are they going to address Black women losing a majority of the jobs this past year? Or Black women’s high pregnancy mortality rate? Or maybe that WP hold over 84% of US wealth (6x that of Black households)? Just to name a few….
