As a board member at @womentcities.bsky.social, I’ve seen how people coming together can reshape the cities we live in so we can thrive. WTC’s advocacy and programs are making a real difference—but this work needs all of us.

Being with community keeps me grounded in humility and lived experience, and it’s what drives me to use my professional skills to organize and show up for a city that’s been heading in the wrong direction.
Leave me a comment if this resonates with you!

For the last 16 years, I’ve been working as an urban planner to foster more inclusive and equitable communities, where everyone regardless of their race, gender, age, income, or ability can thrive. My work has spanned from the City of Vancouver to the City of Halifax.

I'm proud of the work we've done and look forward to seeing what comes next for the association as I also pursue my other passions. Hopefully it will also be another busy year for me! 🎉💖🌟

I attended my last meeting tonight as a Trout Lake Community Centre Association Board Director. It's been a blast over the past four years. I've met many amazing leaders and community members who pour hours of volunteer time each week to make our community richer, stronger, and more resilient.

ICYMI - here is another snippet of my speech to Vancouver City Council last week about the impact the budget cuts are having on staff morale.

Stay strong, Vancouver. Next year, we have an opportunity to bring our city back from the brink and start restoring our services, focusing again on our community centres, libraries, parks, climate initiatives, affordable and inclusive housing policies, and equity.

It's been an incredibly frustrating day with Vancouver passing an austerity budget that will cut funding for important public services and infrastructure and fire hundreds of staff, even after over 600 speakers, including myself, speaking out against the harm that this budget will do to our city.

As you may have heard, Vancouver’s proposed 2026 budget will mean over $120 million in service cuts, and our most vulnerable populations will bear the burden of these cuts, including women - one of the cuts that have been proposed is removing change tables and period product dispensers!

The evening also showcased the amazing talent and collective resilience that Indigenous communities have always had and will continue to have for generations to come.

The event reminded us that Indigenous people, especially women, girls, two-spirited people, continue to be subjected to disproportionate violence. This needs to stop. We need to do everything we can to prevent this from continuing, and find those who are still missing.

I attended the VIFW #reddress event w/ @caitlinstockwell.bsky.social, and it was like no other event I've been to. I was both moved and inspired by the strength and beauty of the words, performances, and work of the speakers, singers, dancers, designers, and other artists.
