Seriously, everyone needs to stop with the "the last acceptable prejudice," or "if this were any OTHER minority, it wouldn't be acceptable"
because as we keep seeing, EVERY DAMN DAY, it is ALWAYS multiple minorities being targeted
bigotry only comes in variety packs

An iridescent green humming bird with a white throat stands on a curving plant stem. Its neck is extended a very surprising amount for such a small bird.
WHO KNEW THEY HAVE THAT MUCH NECK?!

An excerpt from “Cancelling Billionaires Before They Cancel Us: The Urgent Case for a Wealth Tax” by Linda McQuaig & Neil Brooks
The issue of wealth inequality is one of the most pressing social and economic problems of our time. States must take action to rein in the power of billionaires—and one key tool for doing so would be a wealth tax. By @lindamcquaig.bsky.social + Neil Brooks.

Again: trans people are a very small minority. If your *KNEEJERK* reaction when you encounter these rare & beautiful butterflies is *ANYTHING* other than “What can I do to make your life a little brighter?” you need to interrogate yourself. Impede the life of trans ppl & you’re in danger, from me. ❤️

Several points:
1) Iran's regime is odious. Its citizens deserve support.
2) That does not mean an attack will help.
3) Canada will find it hard to be so selective in its support for international law.
4) Canada does not benefit from a US administration unbound by the US constitution.

A couple of photos of the people who showed up to protest this OneBC talk.
This event was billed as a town hall - but in reality it was a very long talk by Billboard Chris, a Metro Vancouver man who regularly protests gender affirming care, SOGI and human rights protections for trans people.

A very round white and brown shorebird stands on the sand with blurry ocean waves behind.
The news is terrible but I’m going to continue posting birds and frogs and flowers and the sky because looking at nature can help us keep going in the face of all the awful. Please take good care of yourselves

A curved light green and dark red streaked plant sticks up from the ground. It comes to a point at the top and is shaped kind of like a conch shell.

I heard stories of people who've fed crows, and been given gifts in return. It sounded charming, so I began doing that.
Then, one night, there was a rapping on my bedroom window. I stumbled up and opened.
A crow flew in and spoke: "They're coming for you. You must flee."
I only just made it out.

Me: The Westlaw AI hallucinates 17-33% of the time. We shouldn't be using this.
