In the story there was gonna be a character who was born like one. But since his role wouldn't work he isn't gonna appear or just as a background character.
Lycanthropy is mainly transmitted by bite and only if the victim is lucky enough to survive from the attack and wounds.

Him in the au where he is a tired lycan is the bigger and heavier he got.
And he is just a clumsy straight man. It's true he doubted about his sexuality when he met John but more because he was kind of desperated to find a partner but it didn't work for him.
I think making him bi would be too easy
