Smalls and the rest of the Handala crew who remain in Israeli detention are on hunger strike. He has repeatedly said that no matter what happens, Gaza should be the focus and Gaza is the story. He has repeatedly declined a “hero”
narrative. Remember why Chris Smalls boarded the flotilla…

“I no longer have the strength to work for the media. My body is thin and I can’t work anymore.” The last journalists remaining in Gaza are near death from forced starvation. There is enough food at the border to feed the entire population for 3 months. This is genocide.

If I Must Starve
a poem
Nour Abdel Latif
July 22, 2025
If I must starve,
let it be with dignity in my children's eyes,
not with my hands tied by silence.
Let the world witness
that I did not bow to the hunger
but stood, even as the sky emptied
and the earth closed her mouth.
If I must starve,
let it be while I still cradle my child's hope,
not as a number lost in footnotes.
Let the sea carry my name
to shores that forgot my people,
and let the wind whisper:
she fed love when bread was gone.

The minimum and I mean the bare minimum human thing to do, the bare minimum show of your moral agency, is to start asking loudly why the newspaper of record does genocide coverup like this, and divest from this hellscape.

Bret Stephens (and all the editors over there for that matter) has seen the same footage from Gaza that you and I have seen—skeletal babies and grown men collapsing from hunger and gaunt corpses. And he still writes that it’s not a genocide. And the NYT still publishes it.

Michael wearing a light blue t-shirt emblazoned with an image of the Supreme Court building, ruined and decayed and overtaken by nature. Green plants grow over and through it. Michael has one hand on his head and a ridiculous open mouth grin, looking up at the sky with his eyes squinted, in the same pose as an infamous Lebron James selfie. The caption is the same as the Lebron one: "Smiling through it all! Can't believe this is my life"

Today my PD friends and I were laughing about a cop who was asked to estimate the distance in feet between him and a man when the man was standing at the front of a car and the cop was at the back of the car. The cop said 300 feet. So yea basically.

I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters — the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. — are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.

There are jokes to be made. I won’t be the one to make them. I do wanna point out that every single case episode we do follows the same structure format, for 5 years. Incredible that the robot cannot detect. Also I wonder how many uses of the word “fuck” translated to “throwing shade” to the robot.

Activists in the US are censored and punished for speaking up for Palestinian freedom. We challenge the censorship so voices for justice can be heard.
