It was a pleasure joining the Tamil Heritage Society in Markham today to celebrate the finale of Tamil Heritage Month. Delicious food, beautiful dance performances , cultural exhibits and more- our city and region’s Tamil community are an important part of who we are, together.

I’m deeply grateful to, and proud of, Torontonians from every part of our city who came together in the freezing cold today to demand transparency and accountability - and that their government support a public inquiry into the Eglinton LRT fiasco.

…I propose a public dashboard for all major infrastructure projects. Using visual and interactive tools, a public dashboard can provide residents with the ability to track progress, issues, costs and timing. It can provide more granular details about publicly-shared contracts and reports…

I have a suggestion for the province and Metrolinx. We all want transit expansion to move forward. But the cost overruns, delays, secrecy and impacts on businesses and communities due to the Eglinton LRT construction can never be repeated….

This evening, I commemorated International Holocaust Remembrance Day by attending the launch of Reflection, a book by 97-year-old Holocaust survivor and educator Hedy Bohm at the Prosserman Jewish Community Centre. Hedy’s story of loss, courage and resilience is deeply inspiring.
