Saw a man dramatically lift a lime scooter into the air π΄, throw it into the creek, and make a fist pump towards me before walking away.
Thursdays man.

Yeah I felt that site got abandoned long ago. I looked at it occasionally when I was on the market and could rarely find any actual info.
Hope you are well btw. You going to MPSA/APSA this year?

But I also think active moderation is important to ensure it doesn't become a cesspool. Ideally the moderator team should represent a range of institutions/geographies.
Anyway just a musing.
In addition to the #psjminfo website www.politicalsciencejobs.org, I have mused about a polisci subreddit. Would there be interest in such a thing? And if so, are there others who would be willing to serve as moderators? I think there is value in an anonymous forum...

You know what? Sure, I'll say yes. It also explains why aliens don't come here. Either they'd be afraid of the giant lizard monsters, or they're disappointed the dinos are gone.

17.02.2026 19:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of my hottest takes is that I favor ideological affirmative action hires in polisci. I just think that means hiring both conservative AND Maoists political theorists, and letting them duke it out. Preferably across campus.

If you got a job, you can use the below listing of others start up packages to help you negotiate your offer. Please add your own after you finish negotiations. Also congrats! π

This is your periodic reminder to help contribute to PS jobs' status updates. #psjminfo If you know about fly outs, job offers, etc please share that info to help those on the market.

Finally watch The Librarians documentary on PBS. It's wonderful and sad in documenting the hate filled campaign against diversity in libraries.

CU announces awards for faculty who use AI.
connections.cu.edu/stories/cu-s...
CU is giving students access to AI.
"We write today to let you know that this spring a CU-specific version of ChatGPT EDU, tailored for each CU campus and our system office, will be available free of cost to every enrolled full-time and part-time student..."
We'll open up registration/call for papers later in the Spring, but #CUBoulder will be hosting @priec.bsky.social the first week of November. We're expanding to a day and half event to accommodate the large demand we got last year. Hope to see folks out in the mountains. πΏ ποΈ
10.02.2026 14:47 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0How many grad admission slots do other #polisci departments have this cycle? Boulder has managed to keep a class of about 8~ students/year the last decade. I am curious about how other programs are adapting to the changing #psjminfo academic market.
