In one Tory manifesto, I think 2017, they referred to Britain and India has sharing "deep historical and cultural connections" and the Commonwealth an institution "we helped to found"...I write more about this in my book

Agreed, there's a lot of pressure to 'get money' but my research rarely needs it (time to research is another matter).
