The location of the plaque that was just hung, is in a place that it will not be visible to the public. While I am thankful for this first step, our lawsuit continues until they plaque is hung in accordance with the law.

At Largest ICE Detention Camp, Staff Bet on Detainee Suicides, AP Reports Camp East Montana has received several 911 calls in the span of five months about immigrants trying to harm themselves.

Staff at the nation’s largest Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility have placed bets on which detainee will be the next to die by suicide, according to new reporting from the Associated Press based on 911 calls and detainee accounts.

This is disgusting, but also a tacit admission of just how horrible and indefensible it is.

If I were #skysports right now, I would be considering offering an “international viewer plan”…just think, AppleTV is $13/month. I would pay that, or even more just to get back to having the #F1 Sky Sports team I’ve grown to need for analysis, especially @berniecollins.bsky.social!

In all fairness, it makes perfect sense, and has plenty of historical precedent, we just don't like the parallels it requires.

Sometimes just thinking about all those on the “nightshift” hits you.

Ha! Thanks - I know it’s dumb, but in our increasingly isolated, inhuman world, I just like the idea of saying, hey, I’m enjoying this cup of coffee! As annoying as the food/meal shots might have been at the time, I miss the aspects of old social media we’ve lost forever (while keeping the worst).

There is no replacement for humans.

The more we normalize harms of inhuman experiences - shopping to healthcare to education - the more we damn ourselves into an end that will not be a good one. No AI will bring us back from that.

We need to talk about this, openly, honestly, & as HUMANS. (END)

What we can’t normalize dehumanization. We can’t normalize fraud. We can’t normalize being made a “fool” (sure, yeah, “we’re” based in the US).

Today, I got an email that the order is delayed (but gave me a coupon to order more!). I sent an email, and in less than 1 minute, got a full 4-5 paragraph “humanized” AI response from “Gail.” I responded back that I did not appreciate the AI response that was not labeled AI. No response. 11/X

…I ordered from another company (now, I realize, likely a shell who “said” they were in the US). As soon as I ordered, I could not get any info about my order or shipping. Meanwhile, I got 5-7 emails a day about ordering more from them (while still giving me no way to know about my purchase). 10/X

You have to assume everything is out to get you, until it isn’t. We don’t talk about that.

In the past weeks, I’ve made a few online purchases. One from a company I know is overseas, but delivers. I wish I could get what I ordered here, but I can’t. That’s on businesses to do better.

They take customers for granted, put our financial records at risk, and downgrade those opportunities we once had. We don’t talk about that.

Look, I just want to know who/what I’m buying from. Nowadays, ANY company on the internet needs to be first assumed to be a fraud. 8/X

…like buying clothes that fit, that we liked, that allowed us to have the same human expression as others around us took for granted.

Now, though, those same internet-opportunities are eating us up…physically, emotionally, and financially. 7/X

Today, diets are often accommodated as if it poses no issue at all. I am glad for that - that response is what we all SHOULD have experienced long ago.

But, of course, the internet opened more resources, more opportunities. As silly as it sounds, it meant things, for example…6/X

I look at what I can get at rural shops today & online, and sometimes it makes me cry…& not happy tears. I think about how my health and family relationships were strained & broken due to lack of access (and a husband & family who thought gluten free was a silly choice because, well, Jess). 4/X

While living in said rural area I was put on a gluten free diet. I spent $100s a month shipping items from Europe at the time because the stores around me didn’t even know what gluten free meant. I eventually had to stop and risk my health because I could not get access to what I needed. 3/X

For example, I did not live with a 3 hour drive to a bookstore. Yup. A bookstore. I could only buy books when I travelled, and then, I could only access books those bookstores carried. At the time (as now), I was studying international issues. Changed my life. eBay is much the same for me today. 2/X

I don’t think talk enough about how - at every corner - we (in the US) talk about the breakdown of life. Sounds silly, but I remember living in a very rural area and how, when companies like Amazon arrived, they literally opened us up to opportunities and resources we did not have access to. 1/X
