And they're done! I'm so happy with how this turned out. I'm starting to feel a little more confident in being able to produce finished illustrations in traditional media, not just studies. 😊This is watercolor + gouache., with a little bit of color pencil and pastel for final touches.

I think maybe the only characters I liked were Silence and Dr. Goodsir. (And Tuunbaq). I'm proud of myself for finishing it and very eager to put it down and read Morning Glory Milking Farm instead.

Final impression.. The first third of the book was a lesson in patience. It still dragged ass in some spots but not as badly as the first third. The last handful of chapters were my fav- with exception to the final chapter which felt a bit boring/unnecessary. STILL way too many names.

Real talk; there is something uniquely Male in writing from authors like Dan Simmons, George Martin, Stephen King, and to a slightly lesser extent R. A. Salvatore. It's an ego, maybe, which drives them to write these huge bricks and pack half the pages with irrelevent yapping.
