Instead of a "false narrative" disparaging the US, it says, we must "focus on the greatness of the achievements...of the American people...."

What Cory Booker did wasnβt just about breaking a record or standing up for democracyβit hits different for Black folks.
Strom Thurmond spoke for 24 hours to block the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
Cory Booker, a Black man, shattered a segregationistβs legacyβand flipped the script.

The message is: crowd large.
Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.
Events like this puncture that delusion.
On 1/6/21 an estimated 2500 people, inspired by Trump, stormed the Capitol. Almost 1500 were charged with federal crimes.
Today, tens of thousands marched peacefully through Boston to protest Trump. There were no arrests or incidents.
This is what democracy looks like.

The House GOP ran on lowering your cost of living.
Now, they are making it easier for corporations to scam you out of your money.
Costco, which has come out saying it supports DEI, will make no changes to its existing programs, AND pays workers a minimum of $30/hour, is up 15% YTD.
Target, which announced it is ending all DEI programs and has a minimum wage of $15-$24/hour, is down over 4%.
Keep voting with your wallet.
Agree that institutional neutrality in this moment is covering for obedience, a defensive posture bc of endowment tax talk etc. But that is a weird, totally gratuitous, sexualized analogy to Nicole Kidman in Babygirl. Completely detracts from the weight of the argument and gives me the ick.

Join Repro Equity Now President Rebecca Hart Holder and Senator @edmarkey.bsky.social tomorrow night to hear how states like Massachusetts can stand up to attacks on our reproductive freedom in a second Trump administration.
Here in New England, weβre going on offense.

Cecile Richards was a champion in the fight for reproductive freedom. She devoted her life to the betterment of our country and her legacy will be felt for years to come.
