This is a staggering statistic. I've never understood the 'wood is good' mantra in sustainable design. Yes, it's better than plastic as it can be more easily reused (though largely isn't) and recycled, but it's still a valuable raw material. Very much #secondhandfirst ALWAYS not just for January
