Net migration in 2025 was about 160,000.

That headline 2025 net migration figure will come out in May: it will clearly be significantly below the 205k for the year to June 2025 (est range: 130-180k) as 2025 visa data is now published.

But the 2026 figure is likely to show negative net migration.

I guess there might be a future when space flight is so safe and so affordable we can all do it. But we’re not there yet!

… so your pupil doesn’t have long to wait. (So long as they can become a multimillionaire to be able to afford the ticket with Blue Origin).

So, right now human space flight is still pretty risky; compared to - say - a long haul flight, or a car journey. And I guess in that context it’s hard to know how you could consent a child, regarding the risks. But the youngest person so far flown was only 18 …

- general vibes about integration
- elite cues from media & political discourse in shaping public perceptions
