That's 7 new Republican seats in the House for the 2026 midterms. Other states (Ohio, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois) are getting involved (Ohio may add two Republican districts). But California has the chance, tomorrow, to add FIVE new Democratic seats (to counterbalance Texas). That's what's at stake with Prop 50.
