ICE Is Hiring Literally Anybody, and It’s Terrifying Many recruits have criminal backgrounds or can’t pass open-book exams on officer conduct, yet they’re allowed to tear children from their beds at night.

Some failed drug testing, have disqualifying criminal backgrounds, or don’t meet the academic requirements to serve … one recruit had previously been charged with strong-arm robbery and battery stemming from a domestic violence incident.

Unchecked sheriff power needs to be curtailed. Follow @jesspish.bsky.social on that. And I hope he sues the f*ck out of these goons. Keep posting, Larry.

Yarn-bombing is thought to have originated in Texas USA, instigated by clothes-shop owner Magda Sayeg and a group known as Knitta Please, who began the "knit graffiti" movement to brighten up public spaces as a form of street art #Womensart

We're seeing a massive institutional deportation and state violence apparatus being built and it honestly feels like people dont grasp the sheer scale of it and what already is in place. For every horrific video of masked feds kidnapping people there are so many people pushing paper to help.

ICE Wants to Build a Shadow Deportation Network in Texas A new ICE proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

The Trump regime is building a massive human trafficking operation run by armed contractors.

Remember Acting ICE Director, Todd Lyons, said, “We need to get better at treating [deportation] like a business… like (Amazon) Prime, but with human beings.”

Always follow the money—you’ll find the Nazis.

Lest you forget we have no representation, we’re under occupation by the Feds, our police are coordinating with DHS, and we’re liable to have a billion dollars in our local tax dollars taken from us because the GOP doesn’t like us.

We District residents aren’t the problem.

Really tiring seeing people who should absolutely Know Better slurring me and my DC resident neighbors, when who they’re really referring to are the politicians sent here by voters and who act in ways that are counter to the wishes and interests of DC residents.

This indictment of @katmabu.bsky.social and five other protesters is the most ridiculous thing I’ve read (this week), and I imagine it will be laughed out of (lower) court. They’re being charged with the conspiracy of slowing down an ICE vehicle. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.

It doesn’t mean we won’t get there, but the lost opportunity haunts me.
