Seems to be a number of different elements that could be red lines but that don't seem to be currently. Just very simply some of the things (words/actions) of the owner for example, but perhaps that's a symptom of the new age of say/do anything and it just washes over people.

Yeah that's a good shout. Has ended up being a bit of an echo chamber on both sides.

I agree, I think it needs the big hitters (individuals and organisations) to make a real dent, but I also get that shorter term priorities often do take precedent.

Yes the whole thing - as it is such an established platform - is a tricky one to unpick for individuals and organisations though, I get it. One thing that I think would help is more discussion on the platform about what it is serving and enabling.

Yeah I guess for a lot of people/orgs (and I was the same up until fairly recently) you need to have the blinkers on/fingers in ears & la la la, to be able to ignore the overarching motivations of the platform, and understand that many are stuck having built up followings etc.

Get BlueSky’s set up was reaction to X’s decline under Musk, so preaching to many hardline anti-Xers here. I’ve left X now, but what are people’s views on whether retaining accounts on the platform is an important counter to disinformation or gives it legitimacy & numbers that is slowing its demise?
