Slide 2: Caption reads: 4/2/25 Call To Action: fill out the exit survey. Main text reads: We collect this generalized data so that we can see metrics on the amazing work this community has been able to complete year after year. Seeing these numbers is another way to spread hope for the future. (Or at least make us feel nice!) It also helps us figure out how to improve next year. If you only participated in some ways & not in others, that’s okay! Please fill it out anyway so we can track our progress, even if you didn’t sign up before the event.

A pink and blue gradient QR code appears in the bottom right corner, with a link to the Action Network exit survey also available on our website.

As the readathon winds down, we hope people continue to read and support trans+ stories (and organizations!) throughout the year. This isn’t an exhaustive list, so if you’re an indie author especially, we’d love a 2025 released self-rec. #trr25 #booksky #transrightsreadathon

Slide 5: Text Reads: What Can You Do Right Now? Read Trans All Year. Don’t wait for the readathon to read, review, support & uplift trans stories and authors! With book banning on the rise, stories written by and/or featuring trans folks especially those written by Black, Indigenous, and POC authors will be, and have always been targeted the most. Purchasing trans books, requesting trans books at your library, requesting trans books from publishers, reviewing, making content, and uplifting these books are ways to take action!

Slide 6: What Can You Do Right Now? Invest in Mutual Aid. Organizations and nonprofits are important, but the impact of immediate mutual aid is monumental. Offer your time, your labor, your skills, your support to your local trans organizations. With the restrictions on the federal level for funding, your support (monetary & otherwise) can make a big impact. Support your neighbor. See a mutual aid post? Have $5? Make direct impact. See a mutual aid post? Don’t have the means? Share the post. Indirect impact. One action can make all the difference.

Slide 7: What Can You Do Right Now? Stay Informed and Engaged. Resist the urge to doom scroll and give into the chaos. We need all of us. We cannot close our eyes to the news or the needs of our neighbors. It also does no one any good to be aware of information without processing it. Stay informed, stay engaged. If you’re not engaged at your local level, start now.

Slide 4: Text Reads: March 31st International Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV). We’ve stressed the importance of utilizing our collective power since our inception, but it has never been more imperative that we are not frozen in fear or apathy, but fueled by the power of our community to stand up and fight back. We know the power of stories and narratives as readers and writers. Let’s ensure our narrative is boldly and proudly as trans folks and/or in unwavering support of all trans folks, always.

When one of our volunteers made this post >3 weeks ago, there were ~500ish bills being considered and only 5 had passed. 😔 We love how bright and joyful our feed has been the last 11 days, but we also want to remind people that 11 days of reading is only the start. #trr25 #transrightsreadathon

It's hard, I know, but you've got the ability to change the minds of people who might not be willing to listen to us directly.

Trans folks, your assignment today is to do something kind for yourself. That’s it. That’s the action.

Image 3: A “Q” or question: What made you want to write about Grace and her relationship with football? Then “A” or answer: I've always been fascinated by the fraught relationships that athletes can have with the sport they love, and as a trans woman with a long history in football, this was a story I felt uniquely equipped to tell.

Image 4: A “Q” or question: What do you hope readers take away from One of the Boys? Then “A” or answer: The trans community (and queer community more broadly) is not homogenous! Trans girls, especially, do not fit into the neat little boxes society like to stuff us in.

Our second author spotlight is Victoria Zeller, a trans writer and former football player and sports journalist. Victoria Zeller’s book is especially important and timely with trans rights to play in sports is being questioned. "One of the Boys" releases 13 May 2025. #booksky #transrightsreadathon
