Laser-focused on the cost of living
And that would encourage tourism and....growth. We're all about growth.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you have good next plans.

Classic induced demand situation. Are any transport planners involved in these projects?

04.11.2025 23:47 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Unbelievably, Shane thinks the fast track isn't going fast enough and it appears to be too democratic so him and Bishop are reining it in, with a new bill to be passed under urgency.
This is preposterous. www.thepost.co.nz/business/360...
โThe policy statement makes clear that this express lane option is targeted at supporting the entry and expansion of firms that can challenge the dominance of existing major grocery retailers and offer genuine choice to consumers"
Isn't it the govt's job to challenge the dominance?
Amid an alleged cost of living crisis, NZ opens yet another big shop stuffed with imported cheap goods, which we assume will be hugely popular, so we need traffic management. FFS.

28.10.2025 23:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Will it come down to the motivation and numbers of voters? How many landlords (definitely benefit), versus how many kiwis want those funds directed elsewhere (and might benefit).

28.10.2025 19:39 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Great thread and I believe you are correct. The left is uncoordinated and lacking a narrative. It really worries me and I'm not sure what will shift that in time for NZ.

โGeothermal could help secure New Zealandโs future energy needs, which is why itโs critical that we learn from world leaders in this area like Iceland,โ said Minister Peters.
