Despite the support of most of the world's governments, no agreement on a #PlasticsTreaty was reached in Geneva. The only thing the US had to say in the end was to shut down input from civil society. Negotiations will continue, and the movement to #BreakFreeFromPlastic will continue to grow.

There are 234 petrochemical industry lobbyists in these plastics treaty negotiations. Polluters should not be allowed to write the rules. We've already had 70 years of self-regulation by the petrochem industry; we're here working on a treaty because that has had disastrous consequences for us all.
