I'm no Liberal apologist but if you're guy is the one arguing for less taxes on the rich and corporations then chances are he's the corrupt one

20.10.2025 21:11 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Solidarity is not pity. It grows from knowing that when one group is attacked, others will be next. Itβs not symbolic or abstract. It means showing up, sharing resources, and refusing to treat another personβs suffering as distant from your own.
20.10.2025 19:02 β π 8 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0I'm getting really tired of these idiots talking about government deficits as if they mean anything
20.10.2025 16:10 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I use Feedly as an aggregator for a lot of new sources, specifically including a mix of anarchist sites, leftist or progressive sites, and mainstream outlets but I can't do all the things I want because I'm on the free tier. Does anyone know if it's worth upgrading for $8/month?
20.10.2025 15:29 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Every claim of βefficiencyβ hides a transfer of cost and power. Governments hand control to corporations, and the public ends up paying more for less. Simon Enoch and I break down how that logic became policy across Canada.
20.10.2025 14:41 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0You need to chill out about other people's behavior most of the time. If they're not hurting you, just being annoying in a way you can cope with, then cope. It's probably not a problem with them, but wider systems. Get zen with people being people.
20.10.2025 03:42 β π 372 π 55 π¬ 2 π 6Why am I seeing headlines talking about an Israeli military strike testing the ceasefire? If they performed a military strike it seems like they broke the ceasefire agreement
20.10.2025 00:11 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Freedom doesnβt mean much if it only applies to people who never challenge power. The moment someone protests or speaks up, that promise disappears. Governments love to talk about order, but what they really want is control.
19.10.2025 21:30 β π 10 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0When we recorded this, Gaza was still under bombardment. A ceasefire has been announced since, but nothing about the devastation has changed. Nick and I talked about the protests, the outrage, and how people refused to look away.
19.10.2025 19:30 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, most countries that are descendants of British colonization were built on genocide and land theft pushed into corporate ownership. States are bad

19.10.2025 16:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'd say that's the myth they sell us but at least since the 80's we've been consistently moving closer to the US model, particularly with the heavy cultural influence from US media. Nora Loreto has a great series of books on this Decline of Canada
19.10.2025 16:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you want to help keep independent left media going, Patreon is the best place to do it. Your support covers editing, hosting, and research time so I can keep making this work. Every contribution makes a real difference.
19.10.2025 14:52 β π 6 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0If youβve ever wondered why every major platform keeps getting worse, my conversation with Cory Doctorow breaks down the cycle behind it. He explains how monopoly power and weak regulation turned the web against its own users.
18.10.2025 21:55 β π 11 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0I don't actually require everyone to agree with me on everything. I just hope that we all have similar goals when fighting capitalism and the state so that we can work together to make life better for everyone
18.10.2025 19:59 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0It's a grind putting out episodes and videos regularly, and I try to balance creating for two or three different types of audience (YouTube, podcast, livestream), but I think it's going pretty well. Thanks for being here and thanks for all your support over the years

A couple of days ago, I hit the 5th anniversary of my channel. I was producing episodes for the podcast version for a couple of months before I actually started putting stuff on YouTube, but 5 years for both of them is pretty fantastic.

I'm almost convinced that we'll have an easier time convincing people of the harms of hierarchy and capitalism than we will convincing them that using AI is bad. Even if a lot of the use cases aren't great, people have fun with it, and people don't like it when you try to take away their fun
18.10.2025 18:53 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Policy in Canada follows the path of least resistance: whatever serves corporate power. I talked with Simon Enoch from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives about how that structure was built and what it means for democracy today.

Neoliberalism depends on resignation. Once people believe the current system is permanent, exploitation feels ordinary. Remembering that it was built through political choices is the first step toward imagining something better.

18.10.2025 03:03 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Neoliberalism sold efficiency while hollowing out public life. In Canada, services like healthcare and education are under strain, and privatization keeps creeping in under the language of reform. Simon Enoch and I talk about how that mindset took hold
18.10.2025 01:41 β π 6 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0It took long enough but I think I finally have my audio stuff figured out. I switched my old method because I wanted to improve the sound of my shows and then it kept getting weird on me but I think I finally figured it out
17.10.2025 21:42 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Think tanks shape policy long before a bill is written. The right built entire networks to turn corporate interests into public common sense. Reclaiming that space means funding research and storytelling that speak to solidarity instead of profit.
